Introducing 91iD™ Accessibility:
Making Product Identity More Accessible to Everyone
A step towards a more inclusive digital experience at 91iD.in
The internet should be accessible to everyone—regardless of their vision, reading ability, age, language preference, or the way they interact with a device.
At 91iD™, we believe that accessing product information and verifying product identity should become easier for more people. That is why we are introducing the 91iD™ Accessibility Assistant, a set of accessibility tools designed to help visitors interact with the 91iD.in website in ways that better suit their needs.
Our goal is simple: to make the digital product identification and verification experience more inclusive, convenient, and user-friendly.
What Is 91iD™ Accessibility?
91iD™ Accessibility Assistant is an accessibility layer added to the 91iD.in website. It provides visitors with additional controls that can help make website content easier to read and interact with.
Depending on the visitor’s browser, device, and available features, the current tools include:
- Listen to page content: Uses the browser’s text-to-speech capability to read available page text aloud.
- Speech language selection: Provides language options, including Hindi (India) and English (India). Actual spoken output depends on compatible voices being available on the visitor’s device or browser.
- Speech controls: Offers Listen, Pause, Resume, and Stop controls.
- Text size adjustment: Allows visitors to increase or decrease text size for more comfortable reading.
- High contrast mode: Provides an alternative visual presentation that may improve readability for some visitors.
- Keyboard-friendly controls: Helps visitors operate the accessibility panel using supported keyboard interactions.
These features are designed to supplement the accessibility features already available in modern browsers and operating systems.
Who Can Use 91iD™ Accessibility?
Accessibility is not just for one group of people. Different people experience websites differently, and tools that help one visitor may also benefit another.
1. People who are blind or have severe vision loss
Visitors who cannot easily see website content may benefit from spoken page text and compatibility with assistive technologies.
The built-in Listen feature can read supported page content aloud. Visitors who rely on a screen reader should continue using their preferred screen reader, such as the accessibility tools available on their computer or smartphone.
The Accessibility Assistant is intended to supplement—not replace—a dedicated screen reader.
2. People with low vision
People who have difficulty reading small text may use the text-size controls to enlarge content. The high contrast option may also help some visitors distinguish text and interface elements more easily.
3. People with dyslexia or reading difficulties
Some visitors find it easier to understand information when they hear it rather than read it silently. Page listening may offer another way to access website information.
The experience varies from person to person, and the tool does not diagnose or treat reading difficulties.
4. Older adults
As people age, small text, low contrast, and complex navigation can become harder to manage.
The text-size and contrast controls can offer older visitors additional ways to make website content more comfortable to read.
5. People with temporary or situational limitations
Accessibility can be useful even when a person does not have a disability.
For example, someone with tired eyes, a temporary eye injury, or difficulty reading on a small screen may prefer to listen to a page instead.
6. Hindi-speaking visitors
Visitors who prefer Hindi may select Hindi (India) in the speech language menu.
For spoken Hindi to work, the browser or operating system must provide a compatible Hindi text-to-speech voice. If no such voice is available, speech may not play until the required voice is installed or enabled.
Language selection alone does not translate English website content into Hindi. It controls the requested speech language for reading available text.
7. People who prefer English audio
Visitors who prefer spoken English can select English (India), provided a compatible voice is available. Listening may be useful when reading long policy pages, instructions, FAQs, or product information.
8. Mobile and tablet users
The Accessibility Assistant includes a compact launcher on mobile screens. Visitors can open the panel when they need its controls without permanently occupying a large portion of the screen.
Actual usability may vary across devices and screen sizes.
9. People who prefer keyboard navigation
Some visitors navigate websites without a mouse. Keyboard-accessible controls and a skip-to-main-content link can help them move through supported parts of the website more efficiently.
The overall keyboard experience also depends on the website theme and other interactive components.
10. Businesses, entrepreneurs, and product buyers
Accessibility supports a broader audience for digital product information.
Businesses and entrepreneurs may benefit when product identity and verification information are easier for more people to access. Buyers may also find it helpful to listen to supported product information instead of reading every detail on screen.
How to Use 91iD™ Accessibility
Using the Accessibility Assistant is straightforward.
Step 1: Open 91iD.in
Visit https://www.91id.in using your computer, smartphone, or tablet.
Step 2: Find the Accessibility button
Look for the Accessibility icon on the website. On mobile devices, the launcher is designed to appear as a compact icon.
Step 3: Open the accessibility panel
Tap or click the icon to open the available tools.
Step 4: Choose a feature
Depending on your needs, you can try:
- Listen to read supported page text aloud.
- Pause, resume, or stop speech.
- Choose Hindi (India) or English (India).
- Increase or decrease text size.
- Enable high contrast mode.
- Use supported keyboard controls.
Step 5: Check your device’s speech settings
If the page does not speak, check your device’s volume and browser support. You may also need to install or enable a compatible speech voice in your operating system.
Does 91iD™ Accessibility Replace a Screen Reader?
No.
A screen reader is a dedicated assistive technology that helps users navigate and understand websites, controls, headings, links, forms, and other interface elements.
The 91iD™ Accessibility Assistant offers additional website controls, including page listening and visual adjustments. It is not a complete replacement for screen readers such as NVDA, VoiceOver, or TalkBack.
Visitors who depend on a screen reader should continue using their established assistive technology.
Our Commitment to Inclusive Product Information
91iD™ is being developed as an independent product identification and verification network. We believe that access to digital product information should consider the needs of a wide range of people.
Accessibility is an ongoing process, not a one-time installation. We intend to continue reviewing the usability of our website and improving the experience as we learn from real visitors.
Our future accessibility work may include further testing of product verification results, forms, keyboard navigation, multilingual experiences, and compatibility with assistive technologies.
We welcome constructive feedback from people with disabilities, accessibility professionals, businesses, developers, and anyone who wants to help make digital experiences more inclusive.

A More Accessible Digital Future
At 91iD™, we believe that technology should work for people—not require everyone to interact with technology in exactly the same way.
The 91iD™ Accessibility Assistant is one step toward making product identity and verification information easier to access for a wider audience.
Because a more inclusive digital world begins when we design with more people in mind.
91iD™ — Identify. Verify. Trust.
Note: Accessibility tools and speech output depend on browser, device, installed voices, and website compatibility. The Accessibility Assistant supplements other assistive technologies and does not guarantee that every part of the website is fully accessible.
