🚀 91iD™ Global API & Developer Network Is Now Live

91iD™ takes the next step toward connected product identification, verification and technology integration.

A New Chapter for 91iD™

Today marks an important milestone in the development of 91iD™.

91iD™ has now introduced its Global API & Developer Network, creating a secure technical foundation through which approved technology partners and software platforms can connect with the 91iD™ product identification and verification ecosystem.

This means 91iD™ is moving beyond a standalone product verification platform.

It is being designed as an integration-ready product identity network.

🔗 What We Built Today

The new 91iD™ Global API provides controlled programmatic access to selected 91iD™ services.

The API currently supports capabilities including:

✅ Product Verification

Approved partners can programmatically verify a 91iD™ product identity and receive the permitted product information.

📦 Product Information

Partners with the appropriate permission can access product information associated with a 91iD™ identity.

🏢 Company Information

Approved partners can access permitted company information through authenticated API requests.

👤 Partner Identity

The API includes a partner identity endpoint that allows an integration to verify its own API credentials, permissions and account status.

⚡ Rate-Limited API Access

The API incorporates rate limiting to help protect the service and maintain controlled access for technology partners.

The current default limit is 60 requests per minute per partner/IP.

🔐 Security Comes First

For 91iD™, connectivity is important, but security is equally important.

The Global API has been designed with multiple layers of access control.

API Key Authentication

Partners authenticate using a dedicated API credential.

Permission-Based Access

Different partners can receive different permissions, including:

• Verify
• Read Product
• Read Company
• Webhooks

This allows 91iD™ to follow a least-privilege approach, where partners receive only the access required for their integration.

Credential Expiry & Revocation

Partner credentials can be configured with an expiry period and can also be revoked when required.

Request Tracking

API requests generate request identifiers that can assist with technical troubleshooting and integration monitoring.

🔔 Real-Time Webhooks

One of the major capabilities introduced today is the 91iD™ Webhook System.

Webhooks allow approved partner systems to receive notifications when supported events occur within the 91iD™ ecosystem.

Current supported events include:

product.created
product.updated
product.verified
product.suspended
product.deleted
company.updated

This opens the door for more dynamic integrations.

Instead of a partner repeatedly asking:

“Has anything changed?”

the 91iD™ platform can notify the partner when a supported event occurs.

🛡️ HMAC-SHA256 Webhook Security

Webhook communication is protected using HMAC-SHA256 signatures.

The receiving system can verify that the webhook was properly signed before processing the data.

The system also uses:

• HTTPS-only webhook endpoints
• Timestamp validation
• Delivery IDs
• Request IDs
• Controlled retry handling
• Delivery logging

During today’s development testing, a valid signed webhook was successfully delivered to our test receiver, while an intentionally invalid signature was rejected with HTTP 401 Unauthorized.

This testing helped validate the security mechanism from sender to receiver.
